Open manufacture opens
ECO CITY is proud to announce that the lovely restored production halls of the traditional comb factory Hercules Sägemann are being remodeled into a manufacture open to the public. This is not only an investment into the place of location which will benefit from new jobs, it is also good for the ecology: In the future, the waste heat of the comb production will be used to heat water for the heating system of the newly constructed K STARS LIVING-hotel right there on the grounds of ECO CITY.
Hercules Sägemann's production rooms are already legendary. They have housed comb manufacture in 20 manual steps since 1856, and will now be open for the first time to visitors. Guided tours are about to present the secrets and fascinating production of the "best comb in the world". From the first floor where the natural rubber is being processed up to the top floor, where the branding of the finished combs takes place: this "history breathing" manufacture is a living museum and a further attraction of ECO CITY with its unique mix of high-tech, fostering of tradition, and ecological sound working processes.
